We meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month except in January we only meet on the fourth Thursday and in November and December we only meet on the second Thursday. Check our calendar for the exact dates.
We meet at the Williamsburg Moose Lodge in their spacious event room located at 5429 Richmond Road. Our doors open at 6 pm and our meetings start at 7 pm. Our meetings usually last just over an hour.
At our first monthly meeting (second Thursday) we have speakers who deliver interesting presentations on areas of stamp collecting and postal history. Additionally, we show videos on various stamp collecting topics. At our second monthly meeting (fourth Thursday) we conduct club auctions.
At all our meetings we have our Club Sales Books. Members can sell and purchase stamps from the Books. Our books are also periodically taken to the meetings of other clubs, so sellers can reach a wide audience of collectors. This is a free club service as no sales commissions are taken.
Members informally discuss collecting interests with other members and get collecting advice. Our members have broad interests that span many countries, topical stamps, types of stamps, postal history and much more. Many members have a particular collecting expertise that make them an invaluable asset to other members who may need some type of assistance.
Scott Catalogs are available from our library for members to use throughout our meetings. The catalogs may be checked for two-week periods.
We receive the American Philatelic Society Circuit Books three times a year for members to purchase stamps. Also, we encourage members to freely buy, sell and trade stamps at meetings.
Any person of good character, interested in philately, may become a member of the Williamsburg Virginia Stamp Club. Our annual dues are only $5 for an entire family.
